I like Art Nouveau because i like the way it is simple and uses a lot of ideas from nature yet the designs can be played around with and either be really simple or quite complex. I like the colours they use and the how they match like silver and purple or the brown earthy colour that matches against a lighter brown. I also like how they used simple designs and added a twist to them to make them unique. Like the metropolitain sign is simple yet because of the added designs it makes it look different and complex and also stand out. Zarah Khan 10B
The design movement which appeals to me the most is Art Nouveau. This particular design appeals to me as it is a unique design which only you could have, and has a stylish design which is aesthetically pleasing. The key features which I like the best are; Curvy 'whiplash' lines Exotic Insects and peacock feathers The inspiration from nature I could use this in my own work, by following the inspiration of nature, as it is easier to design a product when you have a theme which you follow. Also, the curved lines can be used to create a stylish designs which would be unique to me
i like this movement as it is simple however the lines and things like that really stand out in the pieces. also how its mainly blacks and whites but then you might have one thing that is a bright colour. for example the pink rose. i wish i could use it in my GCSE product. beth
I like art nouveau because I like how designers such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh used contrasting monochrome colours and elongated lines to create products inspired by nature (such as leaves, roots, buds, seedpods, exotic insects and peacocks. I like how decorative the designs are and I think they are very unique.
I like art nouveau because i like how simple curvy whiplash lines have been used to create more unique, complicated designs to reflect the inspiration of nature (flowers, petals etc). I also like the use of monochrome colours with one bright colour because it makes the design bold but simple. Emily Moody 10w
