I think that Alessi is good because it is different and humorous. Also the products use bright colours which look good and the products are everyday objects made to look like something totally different and humorous. I like the colours that it uses and the humour aspect that it adds to its products. I could use it in my own work to inspire me to create something different that you wouldn't normally see.
